The World Economic Forum is perhaps best known for its annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland,

which brings together heads of state, CEOs of some of the world's largest companies, and assorted other movers and shakers for a week of speeches, panels, and workshops in the Swiss Alps each January. But the Forum also works year-round through its network of over eighty global agenda councils, which address a diverse range of topics including biotechnology, climate change, energy security, and youth unemployment.
Since last year, I've been a member of the Forum's global agenda council on the intellectual property system. We've taken a careful look at the forces shaping how people are creating and sharing digital media today, and perhaps even more importantly, what the world of digital media will look like in the coming years.

Content distribution models are shifting towards instantaneous, ubiquitous access, often using social networks
New technologies, big data, and the growth of virtual content are reshaping the creative economy landscape
The traditional lines between content creators and content consumers are blurring, with consumers playing an increasingly important role in collaborative content creation
Business models for digital content distribution are changing, with licensing and service-based delivery models replacing traditional sales-based distribution
Commerce in creative works is increasingly global -- but national and regional intellectual property frameworks have yet not caught up with the full range of cross-border content movement enabled by today's technologies
Technology is making it easier to modify and redistribute content. The resulting complex chains of "derivative works" provide increased opportunities to capture creativity, but also create challenges to managing copyright.
Many aspects of these trends are obvious. It's not news to anyone that technology has altered how we create and distribute content, that business models for media distribution have evolved dramatically over the last decade, or that intellectual property laws need to be updated. But articulating the key trends impacting digital media can provide a useful framework for rethinking intellectual property, both at the level of individual companies as well on a national and global scale.

<a href="http://youtube.com/user/chinaworldnews"rel="nofollow"target="_blank" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyg3JPgb5jqbvxdQhd2yb1WorltdgN4qQg-EhOM2a872UC6R6vx4B1eW09oFPSgjU1zerI-2swNQJxC-ESwsDL3lm5zgIn1G87KgydgLO5xNaVXRrlC7-cO4NOXvbL9JnvJAVSzP-hhwIj/s1600/digital_future_age.jpg" height="368" width="640" title="future now human developement"alt="Today's Future Digital Use The Shapes of Future in Digital Media " />

For example, if your business uses crowdsourcing to capture the collective creative input of a large customer base (or for content distributors, a large audience), there are important questions that can arise regarding ownership of the associated intellectual property -- questions that don't always end with the terms of use that your customers accept as a condition of joining your ecosystem. If your company is contemplating a business model that includes cross-border distribution of certain types of digital media, you will likely encounter a complex licensing landscape that can make it difficult to maximize your market reach.

<a href="http://cosmeticfoodmakingpackaging.blogspot.com"rel="nofollow"target="_blank" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguDaKqLNk2eDZaSrhEE8sIKn-od1OCw77ucPeTlFd4i3nUDNLEX8naDgbehibti9rviLmmW-ZLIYmXbRuGIGTvpoa3cMvmoTrjA4qlUPIu5d9IpzsIVGXTfYwb5_0B6oBHoy6mAsQ9qoIM/s1600/CreatingYourFutureGlobe.jpg" height="594" width="640"title="digital age computer technology revolution"alt="Today's Future Digital Use The Shapes of Future in Digital Media " />

Addressing the many challenges of doing business in a global digital media environment requires not only working effectively within existing intellectual property frameworks, but also helping policymakers identify ways in which those frameworks can be suitably updated. The trends listed above can provide context for conversations serving both of those ends. The result can be a set of intellectual property solutions allowing content creators to reach larger and more engaged audiences, consumers to benefit from increased choice, and the businesses that connect them to broaden the scope of their products and services.
Human will atrophy just like the materialized person and mechanized body as the modern society evolute. But at any time Human is still a particle,a sand among the vast universe.

In my opinion, humans ruling the world is a myth. Humans actually draw boundaries, like to believe that they are in possession of certain portion of land and other natural resources, try to control others, try to extend the existing boundaries by fighting for the resources falling in others boundaries and get psychological satisfaction that we rule others. We are no different from other animals, where the powerful / smart one's rule and the weak obey.
Actually the world is ruled by nature and we humans are also at nature's mercy. Even the so called super powers are helpless when it comes to facing nature's wrath.

The industrial revolution that transformed western Europe and the United States

during the course of the nineteenth century had its origins in the introduction of power-driven machinery in the English and Scottish textile industries in the second half of the eighteenth century. But far more than the cotton textile industry was transformed in the course of that revolution. Non-industrial wage labor increased; urban centers grew; and in farming areas, outwork occupations and commercial agriculture transformed the rural labor market. Finally, these economic developments coincided with dramatic changes in family life, particularly declining family size and increasing life expectancy. A greater role for women in the labor force, contemporary politics, and reform activities was certainly one of the unintended consequences of technological change in nineteenth-century America.

The industrial revolution in the United States was dependent from the outset on the transatlantic movement of British immigrants and British technology, including the adoption of the spinning jenny, water frame, and spinning mule that made the textile industry possible. The flood of British exports to the United States after the American Revolution stimulated efforts to replicate the inventions that gave English manufacturers such an advantage in the American marketplace. Out of these efforts emerged the first permanent cotton spinning mill in the United States, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. English emigrant Samuel Slater—himself a former apprentice at the English textile firm of Arkwright & Strutt—reconstructed an Arkwright water frame under the sponsorship of Providence merchants William Almy and Moses Brown. The firm of Almy, Brown, & Slater pioneered in the machine production of cotton yarn between 1790 and 1840. This company expanded, gave rise to a number of other firms, and established the basic set of business practices that came to be called the Rhode Island system. These southern New England textile firms followed British practices, employing entire families, with children comprising the vast majority of the mill workforce. While the mills focused on carding and spinning, they relied on rural and urban hand weavers to finish the cloth. Thus the first cotton textile mills were very much a part of the region's rural landscape.

The success of these first factories spawned new competitors, however, and the new factories contributed to a wave of urbanization in northern New England. The new wave of textile investment followed on the heels of a famous bit of industrial espionage by Boston merchant Francis Cabot Lowell. Lowell visited mills in Great Britain and, on his return to Massachusetts, began efforts to reconstruct the power loom he had seen there. By 1814 he had succeeded and, armed with a charter of incorporation from the state legislature, he established the Boston Manufacturing Company in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Tears from Children
Every time I see you
my heart full of pain
My face always smiling
but my heart is full of tears.

I held your hand so tight,
so that you wont go.
When I saw you suffer,
thousand tears coming down from my eyes.

That night you leave me,
I cry so hard.
Before you go
You said to me:
The histroy of Hollywood

In 1853, one adobe hut stood in Nopalera (Nopal area), named for the Mexican Nopal cactus indigenous to the area. By 1870, an agricultural community flourished in the area with thriving crops of many common and exotic varieties. The area was known to these residents as the Cahuenga Valley, after the pass in the Santa Monica Mountains immediately to the north. Soon thereafter, land speculation led to subdivision of the large plots and an influx of homeowners.

In spite of the area's short history, it has been filled with events driven by optimistic progress. The name Hollywood was coined by H. J. Whitley, the "Father of Hollywood".

Whitley arranged to buy the 500-acre (2.0 km2) E.C. Hurd ranch and disclosed to him his plans for the land. They agreed on a price and Hurd agreed to sell at a later date. Before Whitley got off the ground with Hollywood, plans for the new town had spread to General Harrison Gray Otis, Mr Hurd's wife, Mrs. Daeida Wilcox, and numerous others through the mill of gossip and land speculation.

Daeida learned of the name Hollywood from Ivar Weid, her neighbor in Holly Canyon (now Lake Hollywood) and a prominent investor and friend of Whitley's. She recommended the same name to her husband, H. H. Wilcox. On February 1, 1887, Harvey filed a deed and map of property he sold with the Los Angeles County Recorder's office. Harvey wanted to be the first to record it on a deed. The early real-estate boom busted that same year, yet Hollywood began its slow growth.

By 1900, the region had a post office, newspaper, hotel, and two markets. Los Angeles, with a population of 102,479 lay 10 miles (16 km) east through the vineyards, barley fields, and citrus groves. A single-track streetcar line ran down the middle of Prospect Avenue from it, but service was infrequent and the trip took two hours. The old citrus fruit-packing house would be converted into a livery stable, improving transportation for the inhabitants of Hollywood.

Glen-Holly Hotel, first hotel in Hollywood, at the corner of what is now Yucca Street. It was built by Joakim Berg, a famous artist back in the 1890s.

The intersection of Hollywood and Highland 1907

The famous Hollywood Hotel, the first major hotel in Hollywood, was opened in 1902, by H. J. Whitley, then President of the Los Pacific Boulevard and Development Company, of which he was a major shareholder. Having finally acquired the Hurd ranch and subdivided it, Whitley built the hotel to attract land buyers, and was eager to sell these residential lots among the lemon ranches lining the foothills. Flanking the west side of Highland Avenue, the structure fronted on Prospect Avenue, which, still a dusty, unpaved road, was regularly graded and graveled. The Hotel was to become internationally known and was the center of the civic and social life and home of the stars for many years. His company was developing and selling one of the early residential areas, the Ocean View Tract. Whitley did much to promote the area. He paid many thousands of dollars for electric lighting, including bringing electricity and building a bank, as well as a road into the Cahuenga Pass. The lighting ran for several blocks down Prospect Avenue. Whitley's land was centered on Highland Avenue.

Hollywood was incorporated as a municipality on November 14, 1903. The vote was 88 for incorporation and 77 against. On January 30, 1904, the voters in Hollywood decided, by a vote of 113 to 96, for the banishment of liquor in the city, except when it was being sold for medicinal purposes. Neither hotels nor restaurants were allowed to serve wine or liquor before or after meals.

By 1910, because of an ongoing struggle to secure an adequate water supply, town officials voted for Hollywood to be annexed into the City of Los Angeles, as the water system of the growing city had opened the Los Angeles Aqueduct and was piping water down from the Owens River in the Owens Valley. Another reason for the vote was that Hollywood could have access to drainage through Los Angeles' sewer system. With annexation, the name of Prospect Avenue was changed to Hollywood Boulevard and all the street numbers in the new district changed. For example, 100 Prospect Avenue, at Vermont Avenue, became 6400 Hollywood Boulevard; and 100 Cahuenga Boulevard, at Hollywood Boulevard, changed to 1700 Cahuenga Boulevard.
Lamborghini's lead agency created the dark and mystic spot (120 sec) with motion design production Sehsucht, Hamburg. The film will be installed in more than one hundred Lamborghini showrooms starting April 2010 plus free download on iTunes Podcast. Google Street View is a technology featured in Google Maps and Google Earth that provides panoramic views from positions along many streets in the world. It was launched on May 25, 2007, in several cities in the United States, and has since expanded to include cities and rural areas worldwide.

Where available, Street View images appear after zooming in beyond the highest zooming level in maps and satellite images, and also by dragging a "pegman" icon onto a location on a map. When dragging the pegman icon, blue lines on the map showing Street View imagery will appear. Using the keyboard or mouse, the horizontal and vertical viewing direction and zoom level can be selected. A solid or broken line in the photo shows the approximate path followed by the camera car, and arrows link to the next photo in each direction. At junctions and crossings of camera car routes, more arrows are shown. By using Google Maps, users can turn on steroscopic 3D mode by right-clicking in Street View to get an anaglyph version of any Street View images. However, this mode requires users to wear red/cyan glasses to see the 3D effects.

On November 21, 2008, Street View was added to the Maps application installed on the Apple iPhone. On December 10, 2008, Street View was added to the Maps application for S60 3rd Edition. Street View has now also been added to the BlackBerry and Windows Mobile versions of Google Maps. All versions of Google Maps for the Android operating system feature Street View, and the digital compass can be used to look around the locations. On February 14, 2013, Google Street View became available on the Wii U under the name 'Wii Street U'.

Google Street View displays panoramas of stitched images taken from a fleet of specially adapted cars. Areas not accessible by car, like pedestrian areas, narrow streets, alleys and ski resorts, are sometimes covered by Google Trikes (tricycles)[3] or snowmobiles. On each of these vehicles there are nine directional cameras for 360° views at a height of about 8.2 feet, or 2.5 meters, GPS units for positioning and three laser range scanners from Sick AG for the measuring of up to 50 meters 180° in the front of the vehicle. These are used for recording a rough 3D model of the surroundings, enabling faux-3D transitions between distinct panoramas where the environment images are momentarily mapped onto this 3D model while being crossfaded to create an animated perspective change as the user travels from one panorama to another. There are also 3G/GSM/Wi-Fi antennas for scanning 3G/GSM and Wi-Fi hotspots. More recently, high quality images have been based on open source hardware cameras from Elphel.

Seljuk Turks began migrating into the area now called Turkey (derived from the Medieval Latin Turchia, i.e. "Land of the Turks") in the 11th century. The process was greatly accelerated by the Seljuk victory over the Byzantines at the Battle of Manzikert in 1071.The Seljuk Sultanate of Rûm ruled Anatolia until the Mongol invasion in 1243, upon which it disintegrated into several small Turkish beyliks. Starting from the late 13th century, the Ottoman beylik united Anatolia and created an empire encompassing much of Southeastern Europe, Western Asia and North Africa. After the Ottoman Empire collapsed following its defeat in World War I, parts of it were occupied by the victorious Allies. A cadre of young military officers, led by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his colleagues, organized a successful resistance to the Allies; in 1923 they established the modern Republic of Turkey, with Atatürk as its first president.

Turkey is a democratic, secular, unitary, constitutional republic with a diverse cultural heritage. Turkey has become increasingly integrated with the West through membership in organisations such as the Council of Europe, NATO, OECD, OSCE and the G-20 major economies. Turkey began full membership negotiations with the European Union in 2005, having been an associate member of the European Economic Community since 1963 and having joined the EU Customs Union in 1995. Turkey has also fostered close cultural, political and economic relations with the Middle East, Caucasus, the Turkic states of Central Asia and the African countries through membership in organisations such as the Turkic Council, Joint Administration of Turkic Arts and Culture, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Economic Cooperation Organisation.

Archaeological research indicates that people lived in Japan as early as the Upper Paleolithic period. The first written mention of Japan is in Chinese history texts from the 1st century AD. Influence from other nations followed by long periods of isolation has characterized Japan's history. From the 12th century until 1868, Japan was ruled by successive feudal military dictatorships (shogunates) in the name of the Emperor. Japan entered into a long period of isolation in the early 17th century, which was only ended in 1853 when a United States fleet pressured Japan to open to the West. Nearly two decades of internal conflict and insurrection followed before the Meiji Emperor was restored as head of state in 1868 and the Empire of Japan was proclaimed, with the Emperor as a divine symbol of the nation. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, victory in the First Sino-Japanese War, the Russo-Japanese War and World War I allowed Japan to expand its empire during a period of increasing militarism. The Second Sino-Japanese War of 1937 expanded into part of World War II in 1941, which came to an end in 1945 following the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Since adopting its revised constitution in 1947, Japan has maintained a unitary constitutional monarchy with an emperor and an elected legislature called the Diet.

BREAKDOWN, a mashup of thousands of public domain samples, is the ageless tale of corrupt power-seekers perpetrating hideous deceptions on gullible masses. The New York Times called BREAKDOWN, in its Carnegie Hall premiere with the American Composers Orchestra "an uproarious bricolage of alien-invasion panic, financial distress, military might and patriotic sentiment."
generates fear in the public. Mesmerized by the righteous glories of war, people fall into step with the military drumbeat, and drift into total complacency to the lilt of a free market bandwagon. Many lose the power to question their government and cannot recognize the looming breakdown of their world. Others, moved by the government's disdain for its impoverished citizens, foment resistance. People march out to vote, but rigged voting booths open onto a worse fate. The smallest protest becomes a treasonous act and citizens are rounded up, imprisoned for interrogation, and ultimately tortured by a vindictive and triumphalist government.
only the sound of a gentle breeze, a distant bird calling out, and rustling of critters under a carpet of fallen foliage.

Trying to channel Thoreau along this remote forest path, I whispered softly, "I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived..."

Sounding silly I marched deeper along the Natchez Trace with my copy of Walden, seeking solitude and elusive peace to quiet the spirit of a suburban dad. How different this world is from incessant SmartPhone messages, Facebook updates, and media saturation; a constant "noise" flooding our lives with satellite, cell phone, radio waves -- audible and otherwise.

I heard a subtle patter accompany my stroll, lightly tapping the dead leaves that lined my path. What invisible creatures could make such sounds? Is the speed or force of my gate causing this phantom rustle?

As I bent down to investigate, I found a forgotten reality -- a place rarely visited by distracted people like me; a place I often spent hours as a child, but only moments in the last decade. I saw spiders -- hundreds of those "grand-daddy long legs" scurrying with fantastic agility along the ridges and gullies of an infinite leaf-scape.

Moving like creatures from some Tim Burton film, each step tapping out a slight sound of light drizzle, these marvelous spiders were my sojourners along the path. Where were they going in their daily commute? Afraid of the bipod giant in khaki cargo shorts?

And so my thoughts reflected on a recent conversation on the "Philosophy of Mind", a discipline devoted to issues such as how the brain interacts with the mind, whether thoughts are just mental constructs of the physical brain, theoretically measurable in chemical formulas, and so on. If the mind is indeed a separate entity of the brain, then do apes have minds? Do dogs and cats? Do spiders? And if so, what do they think about?

I found a small patch of moss growing thick and soft, sending fragile 3-inch shoots of yellow buds toward the canopy of life far above, yearning for a little more love from the sun. Deep in this micro-forest of moss, five or six ants investigated their surroundings as I did mine.

My prodding finger softly depressed a spot on the small mossy hills, and I was suddenly discovered. One of the ants became keenly aware of my presence and began making its way toward my finger. When I withdrew, the excited little arthropod made a rush for my feet.

Would this ant defend its family, its forest, its honor in the face of certain death at the hands (or shoes) of a giant? Yes -- it would.

Although I declined his offer to wrestle and made my retreat with haste, I began to wonder -- does this ant have a mind? Perhaps not one to contemplate astrophysics or Marxism or the World Cup... but perhaps duty and architecture and a sense of sacrifice; how noble are these smallest of creatures.

"Shams and delusions are esteemed for soundest truths, while reality is fabulous.... When we are unhurried and wise, we perceive that only great and worthy things have any permanent and absolute existence, that petty fears and petty pleasures are but the shadow of reality." - Thoreau, Walden

My two hours in the woods left me wanting. I enjoyed a brief respite from the pressures and distractions of Thoreau's "shadow of reality" and realized I need more time for botany, for breathing, for vainly considering the life of an ant and the lilies of the field as a worthy exercise in itself.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03761706042264427239noreply@blogger.com0奥地利科尔新堡48.259399688718545 16.3793120640625648.259399688718545 16.37931206406256 48.259399688718545 16.37931206406256tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7357734634762131055.post-877459237272881812013-09-23T02:05:00.000-07:002013-09-23T02:05:00.865-07:00Light rails Leichtbahn destructure in mapping video
Light rails Leichtbahn destructure in mapping video

Light rail Leichtbahn or light rail transit (LRT) is a form of public transport using a steel-tracked fixed guideway that operates primarily along an exclusive right of way and has vehicles capable of operating as a single unit or as multiple units coupled together
Lightrails' is a light sculpture with the intention to re-define and re-interpret the exhibition room. An easy but effective mapping technique was used to create seamless projections on both sides of the object. Light-beams were triggered by the visitors and ran through the room, following the surface created by the sculpture. Each "reflection" of the light-beam was accompanied by sound. The speed and brightness of the beam was directly influenced by the force the

The bridge is newer than the Brooklyn Bridge and the Williamsburg Bridge, the other two suspension bridges that span the East River, and often acts as an alternate route due to its proximity to the Brooklyn Bridge. The Manhattan Bridge, which is 6,855 feet (2,089 metres) long, consists of a double-deck motorway with four lanes on top and three lanes on the bottom that are designed to change direction when necessary to assist traffic flow. In addition to cars, the bridge carries four subway lines, a pedestrian lane, and a separate bikeway. Nearly 80,000 vehicles and more than 320,000 people use it (via public transportation) each day.

Construction began on the bridge in 1901 under the instruction of the New York City Department of Bridges commissioner Gustav Lindenthal and the chief engineer R.S. Buck. Just three years later, however, local politicking was responsible for the pair being replaced with George E. Best and Othniel Foster Nichols, respectively. The bridge design was based on deflection theory, a new concept at the time that was developed by Joseph Melan and applied to the bridge by the chief engineer Leon Moisseiff. This design saved in cost, material, and
construction time. The bridge was officially opened to traffic on Dec. 31, 1909. Renovations in 1940 revealed significant wear on the structure, with the subway trains partly responsible for the wear. Those trains, upon entering the bridge at the same time from opposite sides, would cause the bridge to shift up to 8 feet (approximately 2.5 metres). Additional renovations were undertaken in 1978. Since then the Manhattan Bridge has been featured in movies, has undergone regular repairs and retrofitting, and remains one of the most graceful bridges in New York City.
Ostensibly, Plastic Bag is an environmental film. That might raise a red flag for some, for whom the preachiness of "message documentaries" screams "BORING". But despite the socially conscious message lurking within the film it is resolutely narrative, and, within that category, dramatic and deft too, in its dramatization of the life cycle of a disposable commodity.

The film follows a wayward plastic grocery bag: sentient and voiced by Werner Herzog to amazing effect, as it searches for meaning to its existence. It is a heavy subject—existential angst—and in the form of a plastic bag's personification, definitely absurd. However for the most part the film takes itself and its concept seriously, albeit with occasional breaks for wry humor. The result is a film that is a success as education and entertainment; one that musters a startling amount of pathos from its subject and a surprising amount of empathy from its audience.

The best entry of Future States, a whole series of films commissioned by ITVS, Plastic Bag is a confident and polished piece of art that successfully navigates these two simultaneous threads: the interior and the exterior, humanity and nature, the particular and the environmental. It accomplishes both these angles with aplomb in a quite moving whole. I very much like this film and hope you take the time to enjoy it as well.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03761706042264427239noreply@blogger.com0美国加利福尼亚州洛杉矶县34.079537224276223 -118.2876302124999533.235905724276222 -119.57852371249994 34.923168724276223 -116.99673671249995tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7357734634762131055.post-57987108214274173032013-08-29T00:21:00.000-07:002013-08-29T00:21:00.740-07:00Great Animation "will" about the wish from one father in the 9/11 accident
Great Animation "will" about the wish from one father in the 9/11 accident

There are rays of sunshine emanating from California that are beaming over the online video world.

Streams of new animated shorts have been quickly arriving to virtual inboxes heralding the arrival of the year end CalArts projects. I've been watching many of these films, and want to highlight what to me is easily the standout of this year's crop. Unlike many of its brethren, this film is not full of sunshine however, it is deeply sad. It is a tearjerker—a deeply moving piece that is as devastating as it is beautiful. Using exquisite art direction and brilliant sound to heighten an already emotional subject, will is a tender, indeed heartbreaking, treatise on love, longing and loss.

It is a parent/child story, bookended by voicemail messages. In the chaos between the first World Trade Center crash and the second, a father wishes to connect with his daughter. Looking back over clippings of the disaster, a scrapbook of rememberence, the daughter wishes to turn back time. It is not strictly speaking a factual tale, yet, is there any doubt that among the thousands that lost their lives and for their families left behind that the story dramatized is "true"?

The film revolves around a central metaphor, the girl playing with a yo-yo given to her by dad. The falling of yo-yo mirrors her father falling out the window of the tower. A yo-yo however, can be pulled back up. If only her father's circumstances were the same. Into her imagination she retreats: the rising yo yo peeling back time, his morning routine in reverse until she can be safe in his arms again.

Reverse time is not a new trick, the video might be most famous to use it in an extended way, but to pair the technique it with circumstances so dramatic is bold and effective. Overall Song's juggling of time is exceptional. He uses a stellar match-on-action cut to transition between the present day and the flashback to the father from that morning. Color is also employed effectively to differentiate between the two timelines: burnt orange tones for the father, reflective of his fiery conclusion, cool greens and browns for the daughter.

Animated in a trendy minimalism, this decision helps the film greatly as well. In the ten year's since 9/11 there has been much written about the lack of great art born from the disaster. I feel it is difficult for narrative artists to touch on both the specificity of the event and it's overwhelming magnitude. But the less specificity in representation, the more empathy a drawing is able to engender. A story about a single girl, the film nonetheless feels more universal than that.

In a final note, the sound, designed by Paul Fraser and music performed by Julian Kleiss, is exceptional. Spare, like, the animation, they complement the film well. The most obvious and effective element however is the otherworldly, high pitched sounds that come in during the film's second half. A simple audio trick of playing sound in reverse, they mirror the action of the film perfectly, as well as well as the inhuman power it would take to move the world backward. An impossible wish, but one wish the girl can't be blamed for envisioning all the same.

Today a third of the world's population use the Internet and it is estimated to carry around 330 Petabytes of data per year, enough to transfer every character ever written in every book ever published 20 times over.

Engineers Robert Kahn, Vinton Cerf, Louis Pouzin, Tim Berners-Lee and Marc Andreessen were announced as the winners by Lord Browne of Madingley, in the presence of HRH The Princess Royal, at the Royal Academy of Engineering on 18 March 2013. The winners will come to London in June for the formal presentation of the prize by Her Majesty, The Queen.
The international team of judges for the Prize considered that these five outstanding engineers epitomise this approach in the way that they designed and built the Internet and the Web.

Lord Broers, Chair of the Judging Panel for the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering, says: "Engineering is, by its very nature, a collaborative activity and the emergence of the Internet and the Web involved many teams of people all over the world. However, these five visionary engineers, never before honoured together as a group, led the key developments that shaped the Internet and Web as a coherent system and brought them into public use.
"We had originally planned to award this prize to a team of up to three people. It became apparent during our deliberations that we would have to exceed this limit for such an exceptional group of engineers."

The film tells the story of a young wolf on a journey with two of his friends into the woods, trying to reconnect with his estranged, over-mighty father. In flashback scenes we see glimpses of the wolf's childhood which let the viewers know what might have happened in the past that was the reason for the failed father-son relationship. Old Fangs is a short which is more style over substance, although in a good way. We don't need much story, the images and the minimalist insights into the characters lives and their interaction are enough to leave the viewer with a lot to think about.

<a href="http://youtube.com/user/videofilmfiles"rel="nofollow"target="_blank" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcg8AbjPNSLH_fyjZHDaShTsXiqLP2PhN5gr7qGji8xkR5imf_HnDtj_ghenCDys1YoHdoN62BilrTd89D__O3GOGFF_XejTo_CL_76rRabIcXCaTU9KsoCVjbBNYixhNO4Svcj1uK2dwd/s640/hallinan-dennis-silhouette-of-father-and-son-fishing-at-sunset.jpg"title="relationship about father and son "alt=" Young Wolf Son to Refresh the Relationship With his Father Black mountain" width="640" />

The animation technique used enables the filmmaker to craft images which remind one of the films of Terrence Malick, the narrative intercut with beautiful shots of the landscape and the innocent, yet at the same time, frightening woods through which the friends have to find their way. We see images of the landscape or leaves in the wind, and some shots of stop-motion-like animated nature photographs. Depending on the scene the filmmakers use shades of blue, red, green or yellow, almost never mixing them, using those colors to set the mood in each different scene perfectly. The powerful images are supported by striking music and the very sparse dialogue.
<a href="http://youtube.com/user/videofilmfiles"title="Young Wolf Son to Refresh the Relationship With his Father Black mountain"rel="nofollow"target="_blank">Young Wolf Son to Refresh the Relationship With his Father Black mountain
